Who we are

The Rice University SIAM Student Chapter is a student organization affiliated with the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). The chapter supports students interested in applied mathematics, computational science, scientific computing, and related fields.

SIAM is a professional society for applied mathematics and computational science. Student chapters help students learn about the field, meet peers, and take part in academic and professional activities.

What we do

The chapter organizes talks, workshops, and other events. It often meets around CMOR departmental colloquia and NASC seminars. Current and past activities are listed on the events page.

    The Rice student chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics. It supports students and early-career mathematicians in mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. Rice SIAM and Rice AWM host events together.
